As the winds grow cool, and the earth transcends into slumber, the veil becomes thin, our ancestors speak. The warmth of the hearth mingles with the cool breath of the air. This threshold between light and dark, seen and unseen opens the veil.
Samhain is the title of the Celtic festival marking the first day of the seasonal change toward the darker months, known to other cultures as winter nights or the day of the dead. In Scandinavian culture it is termed as Vetrnaetr which translates to winter nights.
Join us in a ceremonial celebration!
As the long nights return and the veil thins, we gather with our ancestors to honor the turning of the seasons, ask for blessings and set intentions for the coming year.
It is a time to:
- Honor the Disir — the divine feminine, the ancestral mothers, and spirits who protect and guide us
- Offer remembrance and reverence to our forebears
- Call in blessings, protection, and guidance for the dark months ahead
- Listen deeply to the silence of the land, and the whispers that come with it
Our evening will include:
- A blót (ritual offering) beneath the open sky and bon fire.
- Moments of silent reflection and prayer
- Crafting Bindrune Sigils for the intent of the coming year
- Sharing of food and stories by the fire
- Communal songs, offerings, and ancestral remembrance
You are invited to bring:
- A personal offering for the spirits (mead, bread, herbs, art, runes, any offering that represents ancestor of blood and bones or ancestors of spirit etc.)
- Names, photos, or tokens of loved ones who have passed
- Warm clothing and a sense of sacred presence
- Food or drink to share
This is a space of respect, spirit, and stillness. Come with reverence. Leave with connection.
The winds shift. The old ones stir.
With remembrance, ancestors draw near.
